What kind of a guarantee do we offer?
We use fully dried Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Cedar and Tamarack logs for our replacement logs. These particular species of wood have rot resistant properties that are so good – we guarantee they WILL NOT ROT. We offer this warranty on our work for a period of ten years. If a cedar or tamarack log that we put in rots within that period of time, we will come back and replace it again. Of course, this warranty assumes that the owner keeps a good quality stain/finish on the logs.
If you identify rot, please don’t try to repair dry rot yourself… Why do we say this? Because…
- You can’t repair dry rot with epoxy. Most people try this method and it doesn't work. You cannot patch dry rot. You have to replace the log with a species that won’t rot and then find and remedy the root cause of the dry rot. Our repairs keep the logs dry.
- Replacing logs is dangerous. We have years of experience replacing dry rot logs. If you don’t know what you’re doing, especially with older log homes, you may bring the building down on top of you.
