In 2007, we restored this log building in Walker, Minnesota. It had rotted logs in a number of different areas. It also had thick paint on the logs. The paint had contributed to the logs rotting because they were holding in too much moisture. The problem with paint and logs is that the paint does not allow the logs to breathe, i.e.let the moisture out.

Stain is a better option as a finish for log homes. In the case of this building, solid-body stain was applied after the blasting and log work was completed. We worked with volunteerss at the camp to complete the project. We did the blasting and log work and the volunteers applied the stain to the logs.
