This log cabin suffered from a common problem - rot caused by a leaking roof and splash-back off the roof. Repairing logs is one of the main things we do.

We are careful to pick logs that match the diameter and shape of the existing logs. Also, our replacement logs are dried Western cedar, which are extremely decay resistant. We guarantee it!

As the photos demonstrate, once we started tearing out the rotten wood, it was so advanced that some of it could literally be removed by hand.

We see this type of problem often but there are some things a log home owner can do to prevent or at the very least, limit the "splash back" effect and its inherent rot.
